Recording Subsidies
Recording Subsidies for Local Musicians
The Haliburton County Folk Society, with support from the Haliburton County Development Corporation , has twenty recording subsidies for $100.00 each available to Haliburton County residents and/or members of the Haliburton County Folk Society. This initiative was created to give local musicians, both young and old, an opportunity to professionally record a piece of original material to help promote and elevate their musical profile.
The terms of the subsidy:
applicants must be a Haliburton County resident and/or a current member of the Haliburton County Folk Society to qualify.
The recording must be original material.
The application form must be returned to the Folk Society on or before the deadline of June 30, 2012 and
that permission be given to the Folk Society to use the recorded original work for a compilation CD that will be juried and created by the Folk Society to help showcase local talent.
The subsidies will be awarded on a first come first serve basis.
The first twenty qualifying applications returned to the Folk Society will be awarded the subsidy.
There is no age minimum or maximum.
We encourage young musicians with original material to take advantage of this opportunity as well as adult artists.
This project is in partnership with Quantum Entertainment Studio in West Guilford
which has generously offered a very reduced recording rate in cooperation with this initiative.
Individual musicians will be given the opportunity to professionally record their work and
receive a final product that can be used for local radio play, as a marketable mp3,
or that may be chosen tto be on next Haliburton County Folk Society compilation CD of local artists.
